Amanda Mackenzie, Chief Executive, Business in the Community

Amanda Mackenzie is the fourth Chief Executive of Business in the Community, taking up the post on October 3 2016. 

Before starting at BITC, she spent 18 months on secondment from the Executive Committee of Aviva to Film Director and Comic Relief founder Richard Curtis & team as Executive Advisor/Chair for ‘Project Everyone’.  Project Everyone seeks to put the power of great communications behind The UN’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development, accelerating the creation of a fairer world by 2030. In the launch week last year three billion people were reached across the world.

Amanda is a graduate of London University and Insead.  She has over 25 years of commercial experience, including Director roles at British Airways Airmiles, British Telecom, HP and British Gas. She is also a non-executive director of Mothercare Plc. and sits on the audit committee. Most recently Amanda sat on Aviva's Group Executive for seven years as CCMO .

She has been on the board of the National Youth Orchestra for nine years and was a member of Lord Davies' steering group to increase the number of women on boards.

Amanda is a Life Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Fellow and Past President of the Marketing Society.
