Steve Duncan
Special Advisor, Alliance Boots
Steve Duncan is an Advisor to Alliance Boots, supporting the Group on healthcare and pharmacy related matters.
In 2010 Steve retired from the Alliance Boots Board after 35 years service, of which nearly seven were as a Group director. In his latter role prior to retirement, Steve was Executive Chairman of UK Retail with particular responsibility for strategy development and the management of key external relationships with government health bodies and professional associations.
He was appointed to the Alliance Boots Board on 31 July 2006 with responsibility for community pharmacy having been the Executive Director of Alliance UniChem responsible for its Pharmacy division since September 2001. Steve was previously Managing Director of Alliance Pharmacy having joined the business in 1974. He is a retired pharmacist and a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. He is a Non Executive Director of NHS Direct.
