In order to reinvigorate the community they talked to hundreds of businesses in their community to understand the most urgent needs, from this they developed and implemented a Community Plan. Their broad ranging initiatives include supporting a struggling school, re-establishing the Chamber of Commerce, developing a home delivery service for those people with different levels of disability run on a not-for-profit basis and raising the profile of small local quality producers.
Some of the impacts of the Community Plan include:
- Delivery of £500,000 of sales for local producers
- Benefited over 500 children in previously failing local schools
- 20 reduction in the amount of CO2 emission in one store

- Employees have given up their time to organise community events and donated over £10k for local schools and community groups
