The 2012 Awards for Excellence have now launched. Below you can find details of all the categories open for entries.

Responsible Business of the Year

This award aims to recognise the most responsible and sustainable business as demonstrated by the degree to which the business has integrated their thinking on the most critical sustainability issues into the core of their business and have adapted their businesses approach as a result.

Santander Responsible Small Company Award

For small and medium sized businesses that can demonstrate how they are operating their business in a successful and responsible way; creating a positive impact on the environment and their local community whilst also supporting and developing their workforce and creating positive change in the marketplace in which they operate.

International Award

The International Award supported by the International Leadership Team Recognises company programmes that can demonstrate positive impact on those in greatest need globally through one or more of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.

Environmental Sustainability

Asda Environmental Leadership Award For companies demonstrating leadership in environmental sustainability by embedding environmental strategy into core business processes.

Climate Change Award in association with the Mayday Journey supported by the Environment Leadership Team. For businesses taking leading steps along the journey to a sustainable future.

Marketplace Behaviour

Anglo American Responsible Supply Chain Award Recognising companies that can demonstrate innovation and impact across their supply chain.

Workplace & Employees

Elmfield Training: Workplace Talent and Skills Award (Previously the Skills Award). This award  recognises employers that are addressing the talent challenge by meeting the current and future skills needs of their business and their people.

Workwell Award supported by the Workwell Leadership Team This award recognises companies that are improving the wellness and engagement of their employees.

Education and Young People

Bank of America Merrill Lynch Education Award Recognising companies who are taking action in education to raise the attainment and aspirations of young people by building sustainable partnerships with schools for the benefit of pupils aged 5-19 years in the UK.

Channel 4 Work Inspiration Award Recognising employers that are addressing the talent challenge by turning work experience into Work Inspiration, to bridge the gap between the classroom and the world of work.

Enterprise and Culture

Arts & Business Award For companies who have developed a sustained partnership with a cultural organisation that demonstrates significant benefit and engagement with local communities and its own employees.

Dairy Crest Rural Action Award For companies who support rural communities.

Jaguar Land Rover Building Stronger Communities Award Recognising genuine partnerships between businesses and community organisations, where businesses have worked with a community partner to identify a key social issue. The award will recognise sustainable projects or initiatives that are making a lasting impact.

Re-accreditation

Re-accreditation for previous winners Companies that were awarded a Big Tick in 2011 and can demonstrate the continuing positive impact can apply to have it updated through our re-accreditation scheme. This option is only available to companies that won a Big Tick for the first time in 2011, and 2010 Big Ticks that opted to re-accredit their scheme last year.

Leadership Awards

The Prince’s Ambassador Award – for individuals whose leadership and commitment to responsible business has resulted in changes and improvements inside their own company and who have also inspired other organisations to take action.

Marks & Spencers Sieff Award for Community Leaders - for an individual based in the Community\civil society, who has best collaborated with business to benefit society.
