Business Connectors - our aim

Our aspiration is to:

  • Recruit and support over 670 BITC Connectors to work in over 200 disadvantaged areas within 5 years leveraging more than £39m worth of talent from businesses and £52m worth of impact in to local communities
  • Generate new levels of ongoing support and connectivity in local areas of great need supporting up to 3,000 community organisations a year by year 5 of the project
  • Create a powerful alumni group who will champion the concept within businesses
  • Build a wider network of connectors with access to training and on-line tools

Over the five years this idea will spread, and demand will grow for more of this activity, far beyond the number of areas that BITC Connectors will be working in. The tools, partnerships and other learning will support a future demand for connecting together the business and voluntary sector. Whilst we expect the BITC model of Connectors to continue and evolve, we will also be working with our members, our advisory group and partners to explore how we can help other ways of connecting to flourish, including new business connectors who will not be recruited by BITC. We are planning to explore and deliver effective ways to provide access to these non-BITC connectors to our training and alumni network.
