Business in the Community’s Awards for Excellence include  a category for companies displaying best practice in tackling Employability

This Award recognises companies taking a strategic, comprehensive and innovative approach to tackling Employability.

In 2007 nineteen companies entered the Employability Award in 2007.

  • The winner of the Employability Award 2007 was ESS, DTE (part of the Compass Group - The ESS Rehab Programme)
  • The Highly Commended Runner Up were MITIE Group Plc

Past winners of the Employability Award

BITC's Employability Award was launched in 2006.

In 2006, the Accessible Retail Employability Award for Excellence was presented to Marks & Spencer for its pioneering inative running Marks & Start programme Meadowhall Centre Ltd was Highly Commended for its efforts to improve the employability skills of local people through a inovlative training and development programme.

Now in their 10th year, the Awards for Excellence provide the opportunity for companies across the UK to be awarded a coveted ‘Big Tick’ for the positive impact their responsible business operations and activities have in the marketplace, the workplace, the environment or in the community.
