Get Ready!
Get Ready! is a programme that engages business to provide early opportunities for people who have experienced homelessness to build skills and confidence for employment.
Employee VolunteerHotel du VinIt's great to inspire people who may be losing hope.
Launched in autumn 2011, Get Ready! works with business in 8 cities who provide workshops, visits and short training sessions that inspire people to take the next steps towards employment.
With this extra support people can overcome some of the challenges that they face - from low self-confidence, to a lack of insight into different careers - and begin their journey into work.
Our impact
Get Ready! complements our Ready for Work programme. We have already supported over 2,400 people into employment through Ready for Work and Get Ready! will help us to support even more.
In our first year, we aim to provide 240 people with the opportunity to build their skills and confidence on the Get Ready! programme.
Business involvement
Businesses are working with us to deliver and develop events that inspire our clients.
Get Ready! provides opportunities for employee volunteers to develop project and event management skills as well as building stronger teams that better understand their local communities.
The programme
For our clients, there are 3 elements to the programme:
- Registration
- Weekly drop-in sessions
- A selection of events hosted by business for participants to choose from.
Get Ready! also provides training by business for key workers and homeless sector social enterprises to help them enhance the employability support they offer.
To find out more about this activity in your region, or to register your interest in receiving training, contact your local Get Ready! representative.
