Work Inclusion
Our goal is that everyone, particularly those with significant barriers to overcome, receives support from business, to build the skills and confidence they need to gain and sustain employment.
As part of this goal, we call on businesses to guarantee a work placement for a disadvantaged person. Businesses can reach these groups through programmes such as BITC's Ready for Work. Please contact, Nicola Inge BITC's Work Inclusion Campaign Manager, to find out more.
What we're working on...
-
Work Inclusion describes best business practices that support those furthest from the labour market to build successful working lives.
-
Business Action on Homelessness (BAOH) aims to help homeless people to gain and sustain employment, and live independently.
-
Business in the Community recognises the key role employment plays in reducing re-offending. We convene and support businesses with an interest in the employability or employment of people with criminal convictions.
-
BITC is undertaking a pilot to identify the best interventions that will improve one aspect of young people’s transition from care into independent living by increasing employment aspirations and potential.
-
The Work Inclusion Award, sponsored by Norse Commercial Services, recognises companies that have supported people from excluded groups into employment and/or improved their employability skills.
