Employee Volunteering Check Up - How it Works

The Check Up is designed to help you develop your employee volunteering whether you’re just starting out, or turning a good programme into a great one.

the Employee Volunteering Check Up is the perfect tool to guide our thinking and help us further shape the offer for our employees

Helen EllisHead of Corporate Responsibility and Community Relations, Prudential UK & Europe.

The tool assesses the current stage of your employee volunteering programme according to the answers that you provide in the quiz, and then gives tailored advice within five categories – business case, programme management, volunteering opportunities, employee engagement and reporting and sharing best practice. Our resources library contains examples from leading employers to illustrate each step of this journey.

The tool provides useful guidance whether you are just starting out or have a programme fully mapped to your wider corporate strategy.

The Employee Volunteering Check Up follows the “five principles” framework of BITC’s CommunityMark – the UK’s only national standard that publicly recognises excellence in community investment. An employer identified as leading edge by the Employee Volunteering Check Up will have valuable evidence towards achieving the CommunityMark.

The Employee Volunteering Check Up is an important element of Business in the Community’s campaign to inspire companies to continually improve their employee volunteering initiatives.
