What's your community footprint?

Every company has one. It's the impact you have, good and bad, by just being there.

Responsible businesses manage their footprint to minimise the negative and maximise the positive impacts in the community.

Why bother? Because investing in communities is an investment in your business. 

  • We ask our members to transform their business

    by embedding community investment within their core functions and making employee volunteering the cultural norm. In return they discover that being community-minded is good for business. Find out about the benefits of being neighbourly.

    We believe that the most enduring way businesses can make a positive impact in their communities is through investing in education, employment and enterprise.

    We ask our members to partner a school, guarantee work placements for young and disadvantaged people, and mentor a small business.

  • We help members become excellent investors in the community

    We offer: advice and training on all aspects of community investment; recognition of excellence through our awards and the CommunityMark; the opportunity to shape the debate by joining our Leadership Teams; research and practical tools that draw on our 30 years' experience; and events where you can meet other businesses who are striving for excellence in community investment.

  • We offer high impact community programmes

    that inspire companies to work together on pressing social issues. Our members can get involved in programmes that support schools (Business Class), vulnerable people into work (Ready for Work), young people (OnRoute and Work Inspiration) and local enterprise and partnerships (Business Connectors). We also broker local employee volunteering opportunities through our regional offices.
