The CR Academy is a collaborative project led by BITC. There are two strands to the development, a signposting service and a competency map for CR practitioners. Elements of the sign posting service are now live!

Signposting service

The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Academy offers a signposting service helping CR practitioners find quality learning resources to improve their skills, knowledge and ability to integrate responsible business practices into their company’s operations. Resources identified encompass a variety of providers, formats and levels of expertise, as well as including BITC’s own courses.

Competency map

In addition, we are working with partners to develop a CR practitioner competency map and self assessment tool, which will be linked to the CR Academy’s signposting service.

The purpose of this is to enable CR practitioners to:

  • identify their strengths and development needs in relation to their current CR role and potential future roles
  • select appropriate personal development activities

It also enables organisations to:

  • support CR practitioner development
  • structure CR roles, career paths and in-house CR practitioner development programmes.

This development is scheduled to conclude in spring 2010.
