CSR/Sustainability Manager at Marks & Spencer
Rowland joined M&S in 1982 as a store management trainee before moving to a supply chain efficiency project in 1993.
He became Environmental Affairs Manager in 1997 and has helped to build the businesses capacity on sustainability over a period of time, many changes of job title and five CEO’s. He has a specialist knowledge on risk, governance, stakeholder engagement, reporting, waste and climate.
Rowland chaired the British Retail Consortium’s Environmental Policy Group since 2004 and contributed to a wide range of steering groups and standards committees.
Rowland has been a guest speaker at our One Day Introduction to Corporate Responsibility workshop.
In recognition of their commitment to community investment, Marks & Spencer achieved the CommunityMark in July 2008.
