We do this through Ready for Work, Business in the Community's flagship national programme that engages businesses to support disadvantaged groups, particularly people who have experienced homelessness, into employment. Read interviews explaining why businesses like Carillion, Barclays and Marks and Spencer support the programme.
As well as homelessness - either a past experience or a risk for their future - the people we support face a range of challenges. These can include being in care, long-term unemployment, criminal convictions and a lack of qualifications.
In Great Yarmouth we have also delivered Get Ready!, developed to complement our Ready for Work programme. Get Ready! offers a more flexible opportunity for engagement, which gives participants early access to businesses and training for employment, providing the skills and confidence required for Ready for Work and was run in partnership with YMCA Norfolk.
