  • Community Impact in the East Midlands

    The East Midlands has a strong Community Impact Team that works tirelessly with companies to make a difference to find out more about what they did in 2009/2010 and what our programmes will be doing next year go to: East Midlands Programmes

    Events and Programmes

    • The Launch of Business Class on 20th October 2010
    • We will be expanding Ready for Work with our newly set up Care leavers programme
    • Give & Gain Day 2011 will be on 24th June 2011
    • The East Midlands Business Champions programme - created and funded by the East Midlands Development Agency (emda) – is a unique pool of independent business volunteers, committed to shaping the region by sharing their knowledge and inspiring others.  They do this by engaging with non-for-profit organisations and educational establishments.  This programme is now based at the East Midlands Regional Offices of Business in the Community in Nottingham.

  • Environment in the East Midlands

    East Midlands Mayday Network -  The East Midlands is pulling together a delegation of both Public and Private Sector organisations to work on the issues of Climate Change and the Environment.  The first meeting of this delegation will be on 9 September 2010.  This delegation of senior private and public sector business leaders have been brought together to create a new region-wide East Midlands Mayday Network.  Led by John Crackett, Managing Director of Distribution for E.ON UK, this delegation will work with HRH The Prince of Wales to develop key low carbon and energy efficient initiatives to help the East Midlands take its first steps to creating a Regional Mayday Action Plan.

    East Midlands Annual AWARDS 2010The Awards for Excellence are independent  corporate responsibility awards. Run in association with the Financial Times, the awards recognise  companies who have shown innovation, creativity and a sustained commitment to corporate responsibility.

    Volunteers at Ecoworks for East Midlands Give & Gain Day 2010Give & Gain 2010 

    Thank you to everyone who supported our biggest ever employee volunteering day on 9 July.  Over 225 volunteers from business across the East Midlands took part.  Give & Gain Day, sponsored by Eversheds LLP, is Business in the Community's annual national employee volunteering event.
