The children are getting here earlier and are far more alert when lessons start.  It's free which means we can get the children who would not usually have breakfast and who’s parents are unable to pay towards attending.  We can really target children who need it without putting pressure on parents.

Dovecote Primary School

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and yet across Nottingham City hundreds of children are going to school without breakfast and struggling to concentrate and behave in class.  Cares For Kids is a unique charity set up in Nottingham to address the problem of primary school children who are starving hungry or/and are not attending school and so failing in class.

A partnership of businesses, schools and volunteers are changing these children's lives and raising their aspirations.   Business funding, volunteers, parents and teachers have all come together to create Breakfast Clubs which are giving children the best start to the day.
