Sadiq KhanTransport MinisterBusiness travel and commuting accounts for 37% of transport related CO2 emissions. It is therefore vital that the public and private sectors work together if we are to meet our low carbon transportation targets. We must draw on the skills, expertise and dynamism of business - which is why I am delighted Business in the Community has been selected to manage the National Business Travel Network grant."
The National Business Travel Network (NBTN) is a DfT funded initiative, hosted by BITC, which provides a business to business networking service for organisations engaged in - or intending to become engaged in - reducing the impacts of work-related travel.
NBTN enables companies to share best practice and promotes the financial, environmental and social benefits of measuring, monitoring and reducing the negative impacts of employee commuting and business travel. Encompassing smarter travel and smarter working, NBTN is developing and demonstrating the strong business case for change through research and best practice case studies and aims to influence the large majority of businesses not yet focusing on this little understood area of Corporate Responsibility.
