ENVEC is supported by the Government Office for the South West, EDF Energy and the SW Regional Development Agency. 2008 will be an important year in the challenge to combat climate change through reduced CO2 emissions and adapting to the impacts of a warmer climate and extreme weather events.
In addition to the launch in 2008 of the South West’s first Climate Change Action Plan, new climate change scenarios for the UK (UKCIP08) from the United Kingdom Climate Impacts Programme, and an increasing emphasis on reducing CO2 emissions from buildings, ENVEC 2008 will play a major role in ensuring delegates are briefed on these important issues.
