Carillion is one of the UK's leading support services and construction companies and is fully committed to the principles of sustainable development. In 2008 Carillion received a `gold' performance ranking in Business in the Community's Corporate Responsibility Index and also won the Sunday Times Best Green Companies Award for medium to large sized companies with a high environmental impact.

Carillion began measuring its carbon emissions in 2006 as part of its journey to become an increasingly sustainable business. Since then the company has acquired two major organisations - in 2007 Mowlem plc and in 2008 Alfred McAlpine plc. After each acquisition it has introduced processes to enable the carbon footprint to be captured for the enlarged group. With the acquisition of Alfred McAlpine, Carillion changed the way it collected and managed carbon emissions data with the help of environmental services consultancy business - Enviros.

What will I get out of attending?
