• Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer - Freshfields in the Community

  Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (Freshfields) launched its community involvement programme called 'Freshfields in the Community' (FITC), in London, in 1999. However, from the start international development of the programme has been a key factor.

• Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer – Ready for Work

  The placements have provided the firm with a new source of potential employees with relevant skills, knowledge and qualifications and given homeless people the opportunity to move away from homelessness through employment opportunities.

• Freshfields - Ready for Work

  The Ready for Work programme helps participants improve their employability skills and chances of gaining employment, whilst driving benefits for the business. Freshfields hosted 11 placements in 2010, with 27% of participants having their placements extended and 45% going on to gain full time employment.

• Governing our Schools - A report by Business in the Community

  Research carried out for Business in the Community by the University of Bath shows that greater responsibility has been devolved to schools, and Governing bodies therefore now carry more responsibility. The challenge is to ensure that the barriers that exist for employees to volunteer as school governors are removed, and this report gives recommendations on how this can happen.

• The School Governance Study - University of Bath

  Over the past 20 years, the English school system has changed substantially and the work of schools is now more complicated and demanding. These changes have important implications for school governing and are likely to further complicate the management of schools in the future. A study of school governing is therefore timely and appropriate.

• Skills for Employability enhanced through Employee Engagement Final Report

  The Skills for Employability enhanced through Employee Engagement Laboratory is a research project which aimed to highlight the important role that employee community engagement plays in enhancing the employability skills of communities throughout Europe.
