Education

For the London economy to flourish, it needs a well-educated, dynamic and employable workforce.  The first step to ensuring this is by equipping our young people with the right skills, aspirations and motivation to succeed in education and the workplace. 

The Challenges however are stark:

• Only 50.60% of London pupils attain five or more A*-C GCSE's (London Councils)
• 26.60% of London pupils are considered eligible for free school meals (the national average is 14%).  This level of entitlement is higher in London than in England as a whole (ONS)
• Just over 5% of 16 to 18 year old's are not in education, employment or training. (GLA)

We believe that business can and should play an important role in tackling these issues.  Our goal is to mobilise, inspire and challenge London businesses to work in the areas of greatest need to help raise standards in education and increase opportunities for young people to achieve.
