Get Ready! launched in Sheffield

Business in the Community's new employability programme, Get Ready! was launched last week when six Get Ready clients were given a Taster Day at Kier, Sheffield. They met with Kier employees and were given a tour of the site giving them the chance to find out more about the different job opportunities available.

Get Ready! provides early opportunities for people who have experienced homelessness to engage with work.  It builds on the decade of success of Ready for Work by providing support at an earlier stage.  Businesses can help to build skills and change lives in a range of simple ways. They can give clients a taster of the company with a tour and fact finding session about the business. Alternatively they can deliver a workshop on business behaviour and workplace skills or deliver training to homeless sector professionals to help them better guide their clients.

Get Ready! is a real opportunity to kickstart somebody’s life and help them prepare for the world of work.
