Jaguar Land Rover staff help decorate Coventry community centre
A group of finance workers from Jaguar Land Rover's UK National Service Centre swopped their calculators for paint brushes recently to help decorate a community centre in Coventry.
Richard ThorntonCash Operations Finance Analyst, Jaguar Land RoverIt was an excellent team building exercise and all in all the day was a real success.
The John White Centre in Binley was set up five years ago by fellow Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) finance employee, Gill Blythe and is named after her late father, John White, who spent much of his retirement helping the local community. The Centre is used by youth groups, community groups, senior citizens clubs as well as various dance and fitness classes.
Following two site visits and a trip to B&Q to buy paint, the team of JLR employee volunteers spent the day painting the centre's main reception, sports hall and kitchen servery.
The feedback from the centre's customers and voluntary staff afterwards was extremely positive.
Richard Thornton, Cash Operations Finance Analyst at JLR said, "It was an excellent team building exercise and all in all the day was a real success. We would highly recommend any team planning a similar activity to register their interest with Business in the Community".
