Radford Care Group supported by Nottinghamshire ProHelp
Radford Care Group has purchased a 125 year lease for the land it currently occupies, which will allow it to expand by building a brand new centre on the site to complement the existing facility. Nottinghamshire ProHelp members were asked to assist and using their skills and expertise helped RCG to acquire the land and draw up initial plans for the new build proposals.
Jill Davies, Radford Care GroupCEOI don’t know where we would have turned had it not been for Business in the Community’s ProHelp initiative. The firms that volunteered to assist has been so helpful. We have received over £10,000 worth of free support, which we could never have afforded to pay for.
RCG currently provides friendship groups and day care services for older people in the Nottingham area. It offers activities such as exercise, arts & crafts, gardening, entertainment and day trips for older local people.
This is an essential facility that keeps its service users feeling ‘young’ and active and the specialist care offered to those elders in the community who need some extra help, provides respite for their regular carers.
The build proposals are ambitious and much is still to be done to raise the funds needed to complete the works, but the team are dedicated and determined, have the full support of the City Council and hope to forge many strong partnerships with other statutory agencies and educational establishments to provide valuable ongoing services from the Centre.
Jill Davies, CEO, says “NG Chartered Surveyors helped us through all that early negotiation with the City Council and once terms were agreed, Browne Jacobson solicitors finalised the lease agreement details and Maber architects provided the initial design for the extension."
Richard Medd, Partner at Browne Jacobson and Chair of Nottinghamshire ProHelp said “as a firm we are delighted to be supporters of ProHelp and see our contribution to the community in this way as a great opportunity to give something back. Helping projects like this gives us great satisfaction, in the knowledge that we are assisting the development and growth of these valued services”.
