Yorkshire and Humber Environment Award Winners Announced
HC Slingsby, NG Bailey, Arla Foods, Duraweld and Hallmark Cards have been announced as this year's Environment Leaders’ Group Climate Change Award winners in Yorkshire and Humber.

The winners of this year’s regional environment awards, sponsored by HARIBO, were announced at the Yorkshire and Humber Awards for Excellence Dinner on 23 June at Leeds United Football Club.
Case studies for the Carbon Reduction and Innovation Award winners can be found to the right of this page.
The winners in the Carbon Reduction Award category were Arla Foods and Duraweld. This award is for the organisations in the region that can best demonstrate a holistic, integrated and sustainable approach to reducing its carbon footprint. The successful entries detailed specific, measurable activities the businesses had undertaken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and are tackling this issue across their whole business, not just in isolated projects.
The winner of the Innovation in the Low Carbon Economy Award category was NG Bailey. This award recognises an organisation that has managed to turn the low carbon economy into a real business opportunity. NG Bailey won the award for their innovative onsite cabins. NG Bailey’s energy efficient cabin is the first of its kind to be developed and launched by a building services provider in the UK. Intrinsic business expertise in the energy management of buildings makes the company uniquely placed to manufacture, invest in and utilise their own portfolio of cabins, therefore providing the solution within the business.
The winners of the Long-term Improvement in the Environment Index Award were Hallmark Cards and HC Slingsby. The Environment Index in Yorkshire and Humber benchmarks businesses and other organisations within the region against their peers, based on their environmental management and performance in key impact areas. This award is designed to recognise the organisations that have shown the most consistent year-on-year improvement in the Business in the Community Yorkshire and Humber Environment Index, demonstrating outstanding commitment to environmental improvement over the last three years.
