Manchester employees give their time for big gains in the community
On Friday 9 July, around 250 employees from 12 companies in Manchester are ditching their day jobs to get out into their local communities and help change the lives of hundreds of people at schools and community groups across Greater Manchester.

They are taking part in Give & Gain Day, the UK’s largest and only day of action for employee volunteers, organised by Business in the Community.
Sponsored by Eversheds LLP, Give & Gain Day 2010 is dedicated to getting thousands of employees out of the office, store or factory to volunteer their time in their local community. This year over 6,000 employees from 213 organisations will volunteer their time to help communities across the UK, injecting £1 million man-hours into community projects.
In Manchester employee volunteers from Government Office North West, TD Waterhouse, Investec, Bank of Scotland, Grant Thornton, Zolfo Cooper, The Co-operative Group, Grainger plc, ITV, Marks and Clerk, Eversheds and DTZ Surveyors, are taking part in community projects ranging from creating science and nature gardens to Lets Get Cooking activities.
