They have a major presence in both large and small nacelles, as well as aero structures through their subsidiary SLCA. With high profile customers around the world, Aircelle supplies all of the major airframe and engine manufacturers as well as airline and aircraft operators.
A History of Aircelle Limited, Burnley
Aircelle in Burnley has seen many transformations over the years. Formerly named Lucas Aero structures the site commenced production in 1977, in 1989 the Company was acquired and renamed Hurel Dubois. There was a further acquisition by Snecma in December 2000, leading to a change in name to Hurel Hispano UK Ltd in May 2001. The final name change took place in May 2005 and Aircelle Limited was launched. With over 600 employees permanently employed at the site, and 275,000 sq feet of manufacturing and office space. The Aircelle site in Burnley is one of the largest employers of the area. The Company anticipates continued development over the coming years. During 2007 key investment included relocation of the Site Stores, a new purpose built restaurant for employees and expansion within the Composite facility.
