Principles
The Anglo American 'Good Citizenship' principles set out the Company's view about the rights and responsibilities of international companies and how they aim to conduct their businesses in a responsible and sustainable manner. They cover issues of business integrity, their obligations to their stakeholders, human and labour rights and safety and health and environmental issues.
Anglo American operates in over 40 countries and in a number of sectors. It believes that whilst respecting the different priorities and levels of economic development of these countries, all business units should observe the same values. The 'Good Citizenship' principles will be at the heart of the way in which they do business going forward. They are a guide to their employees and a benchmark for their external stakeholders - especially investors, governments and the families and communities which are associated with our operations.
The principles apply to every operation which they manage everywhere in the world. They seek to extend these standards to their business partners, contractors and suppliers.
