APPG meeting on Building Opportunities with Baroness Andrews
The APPG (All Party Parliamentary Group) meeting on Corporate Responsibility on 10 June discussed BITC's ground-breaking research on partnerships between business and social landlords with parliamentarians and Baroness Andrews, a minister from the Department of Community and Local Government (CLG).
Baroness Andrews, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, spoke about the Lifetime Neighbourhoods strategy and how this is complimented by BITC's innovative project on business and social landlord partnerships.
Baroness Greengross, APPG on CR Chairman, hosted the meeting at which representatives from BITC, Wates and East Potential spoke to MPs and peers about their work.
This meeting successfully introduced BITC's important work, disseminating the finding from Building Opportunities that social landlords act as a unique gateway for businesses to have a positive impact on communities which need the most support.
There was cross-party attendance at the meeting and commitment from all sides to explore this issue further.
