A team of 12 employees from the Willenhall-based distribution and retail company rolled up their sleeves for the day to revamp the Centenary Garden at the nearby St Giles Primary School.
The A. F. Blakemore team was led by Corporate Affairs Officer, Clare Knowles who said,` Our whole Human Resources team spent the day working on this challenge and really enjoyed getting our hands dirty.
`A. F. Blakemore & Son Ltd is keen to make a difference in the communities that it serves and where better than on the doorstep of our head office.
`This project coincides with the the National Year of Reading and we want to help create a quiet tranquil area for pupils to get away from the classroom and enjoy the pleasures of a good book.
`Hopefully this won't be the end of our partnership with the school and we can look at other projects in the future'.
Deputy Head of St Giles Primary, Mark Dakin said, `The children are really excited and can't wait to explore their very own secret reading area and make use of the storytelling logos that Blakemore's have provided. It is a resource that the whole school will benefit from for many years'.
