Football Chief Executive to be Prince of Wales Ambassador
HRH, The Prince of Wales has announced his Ambassador on Corporate Responsibility in the North West. In a personal video message to guests at Business in the Community’s Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner last night, the Prince announced that his 2007 Ambassador would be Dave Edmundson, Chief Executive of Burnley Football Club and Chairman of the Community Sports Trust.

The role, held by NWDA Chair, Bryan Gray in 2006, recognises a personal commitment to the responsible business agenda and is also an appointment through which it is hoped the ambassador will further their efforts.
The Prince selected Dave as his ambassador in the region for his influential role as a catalyst to social and economic change within North West communities. Dave is passionate about making a real difference through his role, both within Burnley F.C., and as an ambassador for the BetterBurnley Campaign. He is committed to the responsible business agenda, awareness of the positive aspects of the Borough as well as ensuring that Burnley is truly a Football Club for its people.
Dave is member of the HRH, the Prince of Wales Seeing is Believing Alumni North West and the club is a member of Business in the Community, one of the Prince’s own Charities. Dave is committed to the responsible business agenda and wishes to inspire other businesses to look at how they too can make a positive impact on society whilst achieving tangible business benefits.
Burnley is an area with huge potential for effective and highly impactful business community partnerships and the Prince has requested that his charities, led by Business in the Community, work together to further this development.
