Coca-Cola Bottlers (Ulster) crowned NI Responsible Company of the Year

Coca-Cola Bottlers Ulster Ltd have picked up the award for Responsible Company of the Year at the Business in the Community Regional Recognition Awards 

Clearly, much thought has gone in to correct management processes and some activities provide inspirational examples of best practice to all companies in Northern Ireland.

Awards Judging Panel

The company was commended for its ethical approach to the community, the environment, responsible sales and marketing and employee engagement. Sponsored by previous winner Musgrave Retail Partners, the award commends the company for its vision and determination in weaving responsible business practices into work-related activity.

Business in the Community’s judging panel praised Coca-Cola Bottlers Ulster, saying; “Congratulations to everyone at Coca-Cola Bottlers Ulster for their commitment to behaving as a responsible business.

“Clearly, much thought has gone in to correct management processes and some activities provide inspirational examples of best practice to all companies in Northern Ireland."

In a double whammy of celebrations, the company also picked up the BUPA Healthy Communities Big Tick Award, part of the national Business in the Community Awards process.

One  of the outstanding things about Coca-Cola Bottlers Ulster Limited was the variety and extent of their activities which included

  • Organising events such as the special schools FA Cup
  • Providing in-kind support worth £182,000
  • Introduction of a hybrid fleet of vehicles
  • Raising awareness of good environmental practice in the community through a variety of initiatives
  • Employees raised £85,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care
