Robert Hough is Chairman of the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA).  The NWDA is one of nine Regional Development Agencies established by the Government to develop the English regions.

Robert Hough was previously Deputy Chairman of Peel Holdings and an Executive Director for over 13 years.  He is also Non-Executive Director of a number of other companies, including Provident Financial plc and Styles & Wood Group PLC. 

He is a member of the Steering Group of the Northern Way, a member of the Learning and Skills National Council and also board member of the University of Manchester and of Northwest Business Link.

Previously a Member of the North West Regional Assembly Executive Board, he currently chairs New East Manchester Limited (one of the first Urban Regeneration Companies to be established) and is a Member and former Chair of the North West Business Leadership Team.
