Business Action on Homelessness, North West
Launched in 1998, Business Action on Homelessness (BAOH) is a unique partnership between business, homeless agencies and the Government. BAOH aims to break the vicious cycle of ‘no job, no home’, through helping homeless people to find employment and achieve independent living.
Clients are likely to have been homeless within the last two years, may be living in temporary accommodation or moved to supported tenancies. However they may also be considered at a higher risk of potential homelessness, by being an ex offender, care leaver or former member of the armed forces.
The Ready For Work programme offers a two day pre-employment training course known as Ready To Go, followed by a two week work placement and culminating in an Action Day, where clients can discuss and get practical help with their next steps into work.
