Responsible Business Foundations: Transforming your business

Responsible Business Foundations is a programme of training workshops targeted at small businesses who would like to find out how becoming a more responsible business can help them evolve as a successful, profitable and sustainable organisation.

Workshops 

New dates available!

Our workshops cover a range of key issues which are key to implementing or developing aresponsible business strategy within your organisation. They are tailored to smaller businesses and you can pick and choose those which are relevant to your needs, or complete the whole programme.

Each workshop includes practical exercises, a presentation from a business and the opportunity to discuss and share your own issues. At the end of each session you will have the tools to develop a plan of action to implement a strategy for your own business. We will also provide a range of case studies and access to How To Guides and Toolkits for you to take away.

Workshop 1: Accessing new business

This session will give you an insight into what responsible businesses are looking for in their supply chain. Some of the questions you may face in PQQs and ideas for how to implement responsible business practices to enable you to become a preferred supplier.

Workshop 2: Creating an effective, motivated workforce

This session will look at how you can use responsible business to engage your Employees. We will explore the business case and ways to motivate and mobilise employees, reduce employee turnover and absenteeism and improve innovation. The session covers issues such as motivation, health and wellbeing, diversity and employee volunteering.

Workshop 3: The green business case

This session will help your business progress on a low carbon journey. We will set out the business case for environmental sustainability and provide advice on how to engage key members of your organisation. We will cover issues such as identifying and measuring key environmental
issues, green travel and resource waste and will focus on quick wins as well as long term strategy.

Workshop 4: Establishing your business in the local community

This session will help you build strong links into your local community. We will look at how to identify areas of greatest need in your community and those that best fit your organisational need. We will look at ways of engaging in your community, raising your profile and engaging employees.

Workshop 5: Work Inspiration

Effective work experience is key to inspiring your future workforce. This session will provide clear guidance on how to run an inspiring Work
Experience programme, and will highlight the short and long-term benefits of building partnerships with your local schools.

Workshop 6: How do you measure up?

This session will introduce you to the Responsible Business Check Up and guide you through the process of benchmarking your business. See the section below for more information.cus on quick wins as well as long term strategy.

Each training session costs £150 + VAT per person
