Internal Environmental policies

Looking after the environment means a great deal to us here at Business in the Community. Below are some of the environmental policies we have implemented in our own offices.

As one of Business in the Community’s four impact pillars, the environment is a key area of our Walk the Talk activities.  It is guided by the NI Eco Team, consisting of Environmental Champions from across the organisation.

Business in the Community has renewed its commitment to the environment for 2011, reviewing its environment policy and objectives (available to download below).  Since developing our environmental action plan, we have achieved the following:

• Increased recycling and re-use facilities
• Measured our carbon footprint
• Removed desk bins
• Introduced the cycle to work scheme
• Procured low-energy equipment and computers
• Switched to a green energy supply
• Developed a garden at the Belfast office
• Cleaned Minorstown Beach as part of a team building activity
