Environmental Management Systems
The next seminar in the environmental legislation series is ‘Environmental Management Systems’ on Tuesday 23 March
at Michelin Tyre plc, Ballymena.
An EMS can help all
types and sizes of organisations, including small organisations, public sector
bodies, Government Departments and local authorities, meet their own
environmental and sustainability targets. The EMS can also help
contribute to national targets on climate change and sustainable development.
An EMS can improve the resource efficiency and management of emissions, waste,
water, and energy consumption along with wider environmental benefits.
An EMS can provide
organisations with a practical tool to help them to understand their
organisation’s impacts on the environment. It provides a template for an
organisation to manage its environmental impacts with focus on continual improvement.
This approach can deliver environmental benefits, improve the ability to comply
with legislation and economic gains.
Speakers from NIEA,
Netregs and industry, provide advice and best practice on the day.
