Business Action on Health

Workplace Strategy diagramSince the launch of the campaign in October 2008, health and wellbeing has become increasingly important, not only as part of the HR and corporate social responsibility agendas, but as a core business issue.  The Business Action on Health campaign recognises that ‘good work is good for health’ and that, by investing in employee wellbeing, the result will be employee engagement. By investing in the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of our people, we are more likely to achieve true employee engagement and reap the benefits (as employers) that this brings to our business.

The first year culminated in the Prosper through People conference.

Business in the Community Northern Ireland has developed a simple four step model to help any employer implement a successful health and wellbeing strategy.

What we're working on...

  • Getting Started

To initially encourage health and wellbeing initiatives and activity that will engage employees and ensure that you are focussing on the most relevant aspects of wellbeing, we have developed a Workplace Health Planner for 2010.

  • Commit to Act Now

Responsibility towards employees in the workplace is one of Business in the Community’s three pillars for business impact.  Business Action on Health makes the business case that investing in those elements that drive people engagement and wellbeing, also helps to drive business and the bottom line.
