Our 2016 Inspiring Young Talent Award, kindly sponsored by Unipart Group, celebrates the very best practice of employers across the UK in embedding sustainable talent pipelines at the heart of their business.

Collectively, our 2016 entrants ran programmes that have directly impacted over 1.6 million young people. Together they’ve taken on just under 37,000 young people aged between 16 and 24, and over 3,400 apprentices and trainees in the last year.

What really stands out about these entrants was that they all understood the need to take a long term connected approach to employing young people. All our entrants acknowledged that it wasn’t enough just to inspire young people, but that they also needed to consider how they were hiring and growing young employees in their organisations

With the world of work changing rapidly, it’s clear that attracting, recruiting and retaining future talent will continue to be a strategic priority for businesses.

With this in mind, we’ve compiled this white paper to outline some of the practical steps our winners, finalists and shortlisted entrants have taken to make their youth employment programmes relevant, inclusive, accessible and sustainable for the future.
