McCain Foods is one of the world’s leading frozen food companies and is the largest producer of frozen potato products in the UK providing healthy versions of the nation’s favourite foods.  They employ over 2,000 people at four principal locations and have an annual turnover of over £300 million.

Efficiency is at the core of the company and when developing low carbon innovation, they look for win-win solutions. Operating in a highly competitive market and faced with increasing costs, McCain focuses on identifying and improving efficiencies throughout their operations from farm-to-fork, thereby reducing costs and the associated emissions.

Over the last twelve months they have developed their own environmental performance metrics - McCain Competitive Edge. A team made up from across the business use Six Sigma to focus on projects in order to identify cost and carbon saving benefits.
