Costain is the principal contractor for the Church Village Bypass, a £90 million construction project being undertaken on behalf of Rhondda Cynon Taf. The Church Village team has 60 direct employees and 250 sub-contract operatives.
Through 2009 Costain procured goods, works and services to the value of £35m in Wales. awareness, and bring issues such as ethical sourcing to the to the forefront through ensuring procurement staff are skilled in integrating environmental and social considerations into procurement, and identifying opportunities to encourage social enterprise.

- Facilitated the start up of two new businesses within Rhondda Cynon Taf.
- Provided Cost Savings Through Innovation - Through close working relationships with their client, key supply chain and design partners. The overall cost savings to the Church Village Bypass project was just under £50m.
