ENGAGE in Istanbul

Environmental Awareness Programme

This programme aims to increase awareness on the effects of global warming and the importance of recycling in the community through an education programme targeting youth in the state schools of Istanbul.

Process

The companies participating in the CVA ENGAGE Istanbul have committed to supporting a joint community investment project. They have put together a curriculum for the programme which aims to educate students about the responsibility of the individual in the face of climate change and global warming.

The students are encouraged to take responsibility by conserving and recycling waste to decrease the damaging impact on the world.

Officially launched in February 2009, the programme runs for 4 months each year. The 3 member companies (Eureko, Citibank, IBM) each partner with a number of schools and provide volunteers to support the activities.

Each of the Employee volunteers received training from their companies before carrying out the interactive sessions (80 minutes over 2 days).

Companies: Eureko, Citibank, IBM
