The project was established in 2009 in order to support Municipalidad de Peñalolén, which is one of the most deprived neighbourhoods of Santiago. ENGAGE Santiago is a two day action orientated programme in which corporate volunteers from the participating companies utilise their time and skills to clean up the local environment and run training sessions for the local staff. Over the second day, volunteers organise a community day and run activities and games for the local residents.

In 2010 the following 4 companies each coordinated a separate activity over the two days:

  • BCI: Park improvement
  • Walmart Chile: Community Hall improvement
  • Dimacofi: Park improvement
  • Brujula Verde: Yoga session

Activities are due to re-start in Autumn 2011 - make sure your company is involved.
