Revive Healthy Living Centre

Revive Healthy Living Centre is a new build project based in the heart of the Derwent ward of Derby.

Working with Revive was a good example of a number of professional firms in Derby teaming up to help a very worthwhile community project and I was very pleased to have been a part of it."

Danny Parker, Cooper ParryDirector

The project was inspired by the need to improve health, using a community development approach. Its emphasis is on working in partnership with the community and some statutory agencies to address the issues which directly affect local people’s health. The unique and innovative approach of the Revive project is that it is a resident-led partnership run company.

Processes

Derbyshire ProHelp has been supportive to Revive since its inception, by providing professional expertise to help set-up of the company and through giving advice and assistance with the rental agreements as sub-letting took place. ProHelp member firms Bradley & Jefferies (solicitors), Cooper Parry (accountants) and Milner McCrea (chartered surveyors) have worked as a team to provide valuable professional support to residents as the management team has developed and the project has come to fruition.

The new Centre provides a much needed one-stop-shop where residents can access a wide range of health and social care services under one roof and local people are being supported to gain the necessary skills to apply for posts within the Centre. Some have now qualified with diplomas in Complementary Therapy and Physiology & Anatomy and have been supported to form a Social Enterprise which will operate from Revive.

  • Promotion of healthy living and eating in a deprived community
