Ulster Bank believes is has a responsibility to be proactive in financial education and that managing money is a crucial life skill.
MoneySense is Ulster Bank’s primary corporate responsibility programme and aims to:
- Deliver relevant financial learning to a wide audience including students, young adults, employees and customers
- Offer Ulster Bank staff the opportunity for personal skills development
- Provide opportunities to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders interested in financial education
- Position Ulster Bank at the forefront of personal financial education and make MoneySense the most widely used corporate financial education resource in Ireland.
MoneySense for schools is an online financial education developed by teachers and experts, it teaches 11-18 year olds about saving, budgeting, borrowing and setting up a small business and prepares them for life as independent adults.
It has guidance and lesson plans and can be delivered independently by teachers and there are also 100 Ulster Bank volunteers supporting the teachers in delivery. The volunteer’s training is bespoke for the programme and is delivered by Young Enterprise Northern and Junior Achievement.
