Leadership for Sustainability: the Governance of Responsibility
Professors Andrew Kakabadse and David Grayson, of the Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility at Cranfield School of Management, have started a new research project to mark the 30th anniversary of Business in the Community.
The subject of the research is: Leadership for Sustainability: the Governance of Responsibility - the role of boards in providing strategic oversight and governance of corporate responsibility.
The objectives of the research are:
- to identify generic and specific skills needed around the board table for effective governance and oversight of corporate responsibility and sustainability;
- map the different models now used for board oversight;
- and examine current boardroom practice and challenges around governance of CR and identify how these might be tackled.
Parallel research is being undertaken in Italy.
