The 2012 South East Local Community Impact Award sponsored by the University of Portsmouth Business School
The 2012 South East Local Community Impact Award is designed to recognise a South East business that best demonstrates a positive impact on local communities by addressing local issues and investing people, resources, time, finance and expertise in improving people’s lives. Your programme of activities may focus on one or more of the following areas:
Education & Young People – raising the aspirations and achievements of young people e.g. providing reading volunteers, number partner, mentors or other work with young people within a school environment such as creating a vegetable garden for a local school or providing healthy activities for young people.
Enterprise & Community– building socio-economic renewal in deprived areas e.g. providing pro-bono support from your business to a local community group.
Employment – removing barriers to work e.g. providing job coaches or work placements for someone who has been previously unemployed, ‘working wardrobe’ collectors
Environment & Sustainability – tackling climate change and working towards a sustainable future e.g. taking part in a team challenge to rejuvenate a derelict green space
