Kalpna is Head of Production across the two Bristol departments – Factual Bristol and the Natural History Unit – with a combined annual income of £70million, over 65 series in production at any one time, 300 staff and a range of productions from landmark natural history to arts documentaries, observational documentaries, factual entertainment formats and Daytime series, embracing award-winning titles such as Life, Antiques Roadshow, Seven Ages of Rock and Bargain Hunt.
Over 15 years in Bristol she has worked her way up from Production Assistant to Production Manager, Production Executive, Managing Editor and then Head of Production.
Kalpna leads the Governance group for the Anchor Project, representing the BBC in partnership with Bristol City and local media groups. Diversity, Outreach and partnership with our community is a main driver for her and she is always looking to incorporate this into her role.
