Head of Engineering, Sustainability, Energy and Environment
Paul leads the business unit that is accountable for the “Sustainability, Energy, Environmental and Engineering” strategic and operational agenda for Sainsbury’s. This includes the built environment (existing and new properties) incorporating both embodied and operational Carbon through design and selection of construction and engineering solutions through to waste/energy management, recycling and setting energy and carbon reduction targets to 2030. Paul is a member of Sainsbury’s Climate Change Board and a member of numerous external bodies relating to sustainability, carbon and climate change including: CBI, Prince’s Mayday Network, UKGBC, BRC, ETG and Imperial College/Grantham Institute Carbon reduction partnership. In addition Paul works in partnership with Sainsbury’s Corporate Affairs division in support of driving improvements in Environmental, Sustainability and Carbon legislation, working collaboratively with key Government departments and NGOs.
