- Employee volunteering
On 5 June 2009 over 4,300 employee volunteers took part in Give & Gain Day, Business in the Community's national day of employee volunteering. Over 75% found the experience improved their influencing, decision making, leadership and time management skills. 90% completed the volunteering with a greater commitment to and improved perception of their employer.

Over the course of 2009 Business in the Community has supported over 2,000 community organisations, many of these in the most deprived areas of the UK. These organisations have received professional guidance and teams of volunteers; they've also been supported by employers to move their homeless clients back into work.
