The Environment Index

As of September 2008, larger companies will no longer be able to complete the Environment Index as a stand-alone module.  In order to challenge companies across the broader responsible business agenda, Business in the Community is now offering larger companies the opportunity to benchmark their environment performance through its broader CR Index.

Business in the Community will also challenge companies on climate change through its May Day Network - the UK’s largest group of businesses and organisations committed to collectively tackling climate change by mobilising their companies, employees, suppliers and customers.  For more information, visit the May Day Network pages.

Regional environmental surveys

Smaller and regional companies will still be able to benchmark their performance through Business in the Community’s regional environmental surveys. For more information, please visit our regional environmental survey pages.

Shadowing the Environment Index in 2008

As of September 2008, Business in the Community will offer companies the opportunity to shadow the Environment Index in some cases.  Companies that opt to do this will receive a hypothetical listing compared to those companies that completed the Environment Index 2007, which will only be disclosed to them.

This option will only be open to companies who are in a region where no regional Index option is available or where a company is experiencing significant internal changes which means it is not yet ready to shadow the CR Index.
